Letter from Erin Thomas on Ownership Change
April 14, 2014
Greetings LPS Clients!
Happy Spring! We seem to finally have made it to warmer weather, sunshine, and plenty of pretty flowers! I’m sure you’re enjoying it just as much as we are! Summer is just around the corner… And with the season, I have another change to tell you about.
As many of you know, I opened Lowcountry Pet Sitters nearly ten years ago as the first in-home pet service of Summerville. At the time, I had just finished graduate school, was newly married and, most importantly, ready, willing and able to grow my business into one of the largest and most reputable such companies in the Southeast! Fast forward a decade and I have found myself at a crossroads in my life– a point where I’m ready to explore different things and to take on new adventures.
So after plenty of contemplation, I have made the decision to step away from Lowcountry Pet Sitters and to pass the reigns on to two individuals who I believe have the passion, the ambition and the know-how to not only continue providing our clients with excellent pet sitting services, but also to take LPS to the next level for years to come.
Lauren Baldwin and Cy Ervin have recently relocated to Summerville from Oklahoma where they owned and operated a successful pet sitting and doggy day care business for the last five years. Having family here in the Lowcountry, they have spent plenty of time visiting over the years and have been looking for a way to make it their permanent home, so when our paths crossed this past winter, we knew that we’d found a great fit for all of us.
Effective May 1, 2014, I will no longer be the President of Lowcountry Pet Sitters. Having worked with Lauren and Cy over the last few months and given their background working with pets, I have every confidence that you are going to just love them and that they will do all that they can to make this an easy and smooth transition for the entire LPS family. And of course, I’m committed to doing the same and will continue to be available to them to help in any way I can for the near future.
With the exception of who answers the phone, you should notice very little change during this transition. The phone number (843-327-7487) and website (www.LCPetSitters.com) will remain the same, as will the pet sitters you’re familiar with, Ashley and Krystal, who will be staying on board to help care for your pets. And keep your eyes open for invitation to the Grand Re-Opening that should happen sometime in June where you can come meet Lauren and Cy for yourself if you haven’t already. I’ll be there, too, and would love to see you!
Before I go, I just want to say thank you again so very much for inviting me into your home and for letting me spend time with your pets these last ten years. It means more to me than I can say and I will be forever grateful. Lowcountry Pet Sitters has been my life for so long that this change is definitely bittersweet. I will certainly miss each and every one of you– and your pets– but I’m confident that the time is right for me to start my next chapter and as soon as I met Lauren and Cy, I just new I’d found my successors. They can’t wait to meet you and your pets!
